The Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Mandya is situated in Mandya city in Mandya District of Karnataka. The Diocese includes for civil districts of Karnataka, namely, Mandya, Hassan, Mysore and Chamarajnagar. The Diocese of Mandya was created by bifurcating Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Mananthavady. The eparchy is a suffragan eparchy of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Tellicherry. The present Bishop of Mandya is Monsignor George Njaralakatt. Infant Jesus Church, Henkel is the cathedral of the Diocese and the bishop residence is at Kalenahalli, 6 km away from the city of Mandya. The diocese was created by Mar Varkey Cardinal Vithayathil, by his decree on January 18, 2010. The Diocese has an area of 17,640 sq. km with a total population of 44, 47,312 of which around 1,300 are Syro-Malabar Catholics.[1]
